ART IN THE PARK, CRYSTAL COVE
Artist’s demo, exhibit and sale
Saturday, July 10th
10-2 pm
Public is invited to Cottage 46 at Crystal Cove to see Rick create a painting and view smaller-scale coastal originals that will also be on display.
Park in the Trancos lot across the street, and either take the scenic 5-minute trail to the Cove, or the $1 tourist bus to drop-off.
Parking is $10, but Crystal Cove has a beauty and charm that is unequalled along the SoCal coastline.

HEARST CASTLE
2ND annual Plein Air Invitational & Gala
"Twilight On the Terrace"
Friday evening, June 5
25 award-winning plein air artists working in California have been invited to Hearst Castle for two days, May 12th and 13th, to paint from the terraces at La Cuesta Encantada.We will be creating three paintings that will be on exhibit for 300 guests at the Castle's Gala on June 5th, "Twilight On the Terrace".
Fine wines and gourmet cooking will be served in the Castle's gardens, as guests view fine art and enjoy sundown over the Pacific.
The artworks will be available for purchase, with partial proceeds funding "Artreach," an art-educational program pairing artists with at-risk youth.Tickets at $175 may be purchased by contacting friends@friendsofhearstcastle, or (805) 927.2138. A new series of originals featuring the California coastline, particularly scenes of south Orange County,will be unveiled at our 14th annual home show. Guests will be able to view originals in the setting of a home environment. Rick’s studio will be open to visitors. Refreshments will be served.

PAINT SAN CLEMENTE PLEIN AIR COMPETITION
City of San Clemente Community Center

Gala Reception 6/26/10, 6-8 pm
Over 100 artists will descend on San Clemente, CA in June to paint it from City-limit to City-limit, and even down to Trestles Beach.
Two paintings will be turned in for the week-long competition, and one
will be started and completed in a three-hour period for the Quick Draw
event on Friday. Over 300 paintings of San Clemente will go up for sale at the Gala event on Saturday at the Community Center.
Saturday and Sunday artists will be exhibiting outdoors in a tent show
on the Community Center lawn, concurrent with the exhibition.
Rick has won the event twice, and last year received third place in the Quick Draw. $13,000 in cash awards.

LAGUNA BEACH PLEIN AIR INVITATIONAL
October 10-17
50 artists invited from across the nation to participate in this prestigious event sponsored by Laguna Plein Air Painters and the Laguna Art Museum. Artists will all begin by painting an 8x10 inch painting that will be available to interested collectors through a drawing at the museum. The results of the week’s painting, three originals plus the 8x10 will go on display in the museum, just about the time that artists are finishing their Quick Draw paintings in Heisler Park on Friday morning.. A Gala sale and awards event will take place on Friday evening, with the exhibition and sale continuing in the museum on Saturday and Sunday, closing date for the event.

SEDONA PLEIN AIR INVITATIONAL
October 23-30
30 artists have been selected nationwide to paint the topography of this incredible region. Three paintings will be turned in by each artist at week’s end, in addition to a Quick-Draw that will be started and completed in a three-hour time limit on the grounds of l’Auberge Resort. A Gala sale and awards event will take place on Friday, with the exhibition and sale continuing at the Sedona Arts Center on Saturday, closing date for the event.
