CUSTOM PAINTINGS,  YOUR OWN VISION

Commissioning an original painting is an ideal way to collect artwork that is personally meaningful. Communicating directly with an artist regarding a place that has an emotional connection can result in a piece that possesses a lifetime of value for the collector.

The artist has painted from such locations as the Eastern Seaboard, Canada, Coastal California, and Mexico. Big Sur, Yosemite, and the Pacific Northwest resonate with the artist's affinity for water, trees, and the coast. A painting custom-made for your home is an addition not only to your personal collection, but to your life

COMMISSIONING  AN  ORIGINAL  DELANTY  PAINTING

Thank you for selecting my work for inclusion in your collection.  It is a pleasure to provide you with an original work that will be a "shared vision" of your concept.

PROCESS: Initially, we will discuss your concept, including subject, color, size, and framing requirements. timing, etc..

At the first step, a one-third advance on the conceptual drawing I will create for you is acceptable. Preliminary sketches I and drawings will remain property of the artist.  We will discuss the drawing(s) together, and any alterations you might like.     I will begin the painting, then, using the approved drawing as my guide throughout the process.

As the painting progresses you will most certainly have the opportunity to approve the painting, or suggest changes. E-mail communication works well at this stage of the process.

At the second stage, a second deposit of one-third of the purchase price would be appreciated. I will not complete the painting without your input and satisfaction.

Finally, I will make the final presentation of the artwork to you, in my studio or in your home, according to your preference.  Reasonable modifications may be made to the final painting at your request. The balance with tax will be due at that time, when you are completely satisfied. The goal of a successful project is the satisfaction of both artist and collector in sharing a unique work of art.

FRAMING: I will be happy to suggest framing possibilities that would be appropriate for the piece and for your décor, and to recommend a professional framer to you that would offer a quality selection of material, timely and personal service, creative consultation, and reasonable prices.

FEES: Contact the studio for current pricing information.  Custom sizes may be selected that are not listed, and price will be appraised accordingly.  Adjustments may be made as certain factors vary from piece to piece, especially those regarding complexity of subject, working conditions, cost of materials, amount of corrections required, etc.. Above all, I would be honored to created a painting for you that expresses your unique vision.
